Belly on the Beach:)

Ruth @ 27 weeks. She's 29 now, and the little critter is kicking up a storm. On this day we were at New River Beach and the sea was calmer, I think, than I'd ever seen it before.

In other pregnancy news, we were recently at a seminar on cloth diapering. These have come a long way people! No more triangular piece of bedsheet sitting in a bucket. And we highly recommend it - if you're not sold on saving the environment, you should at least check out how many toxic chemicals are in "disposable" diapers and consequently on a baby's skin and in his lungs. Anyway, you can check out the groovy little company we've decided to go with for the diaper thing. It's the brainchild of two moms in Montreal.

Wow - you're looking great, Ruth! That's awesome about the cloth diapering. We've been using them at home with Nathan and they're really easy.

Thanks for the compliments! We're really excited about using cloth diapers - it's amazing (in a scary way) what's in disposables. Yuck!

Yeah, you really DO look cute! :) SO does the little guy! ;) From all that I have read, there seems to be a downside to cloth diapers, and that is that they are hard on the enviornment because of all of the washing and electricity that is needed. Don't know if it is true, either, but I well remember when my baby sister was a little poo-factory...I thanked heaven for disposables then, I assure you!

Thanks for your comment. While you DO need to use your washing machine more often to clean the cloth diapers the environmental impact is FAR less substantial than all the garbage produced by "disposable" diapers which take approx. 250-500 years to decompose in the most ideal landfills (where there's proper air flow, etc.). It'll be more work, but it's definitely worth the effort in my opinion. :) ~ Ruth
