It was fantastic to get out in the fresh air again; before last weekend it had been an unacceptably long time since we were by the sea. This was our last outing with Beth before she left for Korea. What a beautiful day!
Ruth picked up five yards of fabric a little while ago, with which she now very effectively transports Simeon.

I haven't tried carrying him like this yet, but she says it's extremely comfortable, and it makes being outdoors infinitely easier and more enjoyable. (We're getting positive reviews from the passenger too:)

Actually, I thought (before reading the disclaiimer) that you guys were just sitting in the car admiring the view. Nice pics as always. What happened to the baby carrier/backpack thingy? Simeon too big for it now?
Love the carrier (as you may know, we have the same thing). My favourite thing about it is that both giant Adam and little me can wear it! I can't wait to meet Simeon - he's so cute! P and I will be in SJ next week for our March Break while Adam paints floors here. I think we get the better deal - maybe we'll see you guys?
We still have the snuggly, but this works better for us. Sherrie we'd love to get together with you, Sean is off that week (obviously) and there's a great dessert shop downtown with a second hand book store next to it. What more can you ask for? We should check it out :)

This is the exact type of baby carrier I want, but they're all really expensive online! How did you make it? What kind of material did you use?

PS- Simeon is so beautiful!!
Most people recommend cotton because it's made of natural fibers, but make sure it has some stretch to it. I used a piece 5 yards by 30 inches (although some recommend as narrow as 22 inches). You can also sew a pocket of sturdier fabric in the center of the wrap. It makes it easier to find the middle point and also supports the baby's back. I haven't sewn mine on yet, but intend to one of these days ;)
